Nude Beach - Rocks Your Socks Off

The Brooklyn based band Nude Beach plays a noisy scuzzy sounding rock that is one part classic rock and 3 parts DIY punk.  I recently found their new album II and on it this band has a scrappy edge of your seat punk with hooks that instantly grab your attention.  This will make you keep them in your music rotation. The album is filled with unpretentious bar-band punk rock. The songs are forget your troubles and have a good time music. The album opens with the song "Radio" and I can imagine this tune being played on stations all over. The rest of the album keeps the excitement and hope of the 1st cut.  The songs seem to nod to punk and classic rockers at the same time.  There are hints of everyone from Elvis Costello to Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Check them out below and if you like what you hear you can buy the album here . II by Nude Beach

Autumn Steps In As Colors Fall

Image
I think fall may be my favorite season, it just doesn't last long enough for my taste.  Since it is a short season I try to get out as much as possible during this time of year.  I am afraid because of the lack of rain this year the leaves may not have as much color this year.  In any case enjoy the season, grab a sweatshirt and get outside and enjoy the cooler weather. Farmall

Image
An old Farmall tractor sitting by a field. I know it is still in use since it had a hay wagon attached to the back and a new battery in it.  It's always interesting to get out into the country and see what you can find among the fields and back roads. Click For A Larger View

Ruble Iowa
